About PLACE
PLACE is a joint project between
the Royal Society of Ulster Architects (RSUA)
and Belfast City Council (BCC) which opened in
September 2004.
Aims
and objectives:
• To act as a focus for
education, information sharing and debate on aspects
of the built environment, targeting both the general
public and those who have a role in developing
the built environment;
• To deliver a programme
of exhibitions, workshops, seminars and events
from premises in Belfast, but also on an outreach
basis throughout Northern Ireland;
• To provide a facility
where good practice from elsewhere in Europe and
the world can be shared and where good practice
within Northern Ireland can be disseminated to
a wider audience;
• To participate in the
various networks of built environment centres
such as the UK Architecture Centre Network and
European networks, as well as tapping into opportunities
to develop more active working relationships with
other built environment centres;
• To provide an opportunity
for organisations with plans for the built environment
to publicise their intentions and seek public
feedback.
• To connect with the continuing
professional development (CPD) activities of various
organisations such as the Royal Society of Ulster
Architects and the Royal Town Planning Institute.
