Architecture in the Curriculum
One of our key approaches to improving our built environment is by reaching out to young people - increasing their understanding of good design and the power of architecture.
We brought together teachers and design professionals to generate new ideas for the classroom. Architecture in the Curriculum uses the huge natural resource of the built environment to teach the core curriculum at Key Stage 2.
Throughout 2010, classrooms across Northern Ireland explored topics such as Language & Literature, The World Around Us and Mathematics, using the real-world examples of the buildings, strcutures and townscape of Northern Ireland.
Architecture in the Curriculum was developed thanks to the support of our colleagues at the Solent Centre for Architecture + Design in Hampshire.
