This Review, Your PLACE or Mine? records the first three years of PLACE, the sole Architecture and Built Environment Centre in Northern Ireland, and it looks at ways in which in the coming years PLACE can consolidate its position as a model of excellence; both in the design and built environment field and in the Architecture Centre sector.
The events, activities and many exhibitions organised by PLACE since its inception in 2004 are described, and the Review gives insights into the philosophy behind PLACE, indicating how it seeks to develop as an organisation. The book is in two parts: Essays sets PLACE in its historical context; Exhibitions contains reviews and reflections on some of the exhibitions and events organised by PLACE.
Your PLACE or Mine? has been funded by the Arts Council of Northern Ireland through its National Lottery Special Initiative for Architecture and the Built Environment, with percentage match funding by Belfast City Council.
