Our Projects

Participants at our Student Design Charette 2010

PLACE works across Northern Ireland with people of all ages to ensure good design in new developments and to protect our heritage.

  • Our projects span the education sector from primary to third level, partnering teachers with architects and bringing students of different backgrounds together to develop imaginative design responses to challenging problems. Find out more about our Education Projects.

  • By partnering with local community groups and representatives, we help communities get to grips with changes happening in their area - to give them a voice and raise their aspirations. We have brought developers, government departments and local communities together to find a shared path through challenging decisions on design. Find out more about our community projects.

  • We regularly publish papers, books and reports on issues of relevance to the built environment of Northern Ireland. Find out more and download our publications.
